back from a short break. well life has its ups and downs. and i'm experiencing both at the same time. last saturday, on the 20th of august, i went to a japanese summer festival at changi japanese primary school.. and both i took more than 1 and a half goddamn hours just to reach the damn mrt station, tanah merah MRT. the festival is also known as Natsu Matsuri. well the festival was g r e a t. i see the real japanese people wearing their traditional outfits, known as yukatas. there were many japanese expats around... all the boards were mainly in japanese.. but there was some form of basic english at least.. so that the locals could at least understand. first.. to the good part... the food was mouth-watering and taste fucking good! i didnt even eat a single bit when i left my place at 3pm. now on the second great part... the girls... the cute japanese girls in their yukatas. my friend's eyeballs nearly popped out. stare stare stare. by the way... so many people were wearing yukatas... but not all of them are japanese... some locals were even wearing them because they were for rent.. my friend thinks it's kinda cool to wear but in the end he changed his mind. anyway, the people i went with on that day were my new friends.. friends from the online forum i patronize often. all of them were my age. nice bunch of guys. when the sale of the coupons began at 6pm, the queue moved really quick..after i purchased my coupons, i immediately went for stall which had the main dish... had a few choices.. of unagi don, which is fish i think, teriyaki chicken set, and blah blah a few others. i went for the teriyaki set.. then we settled in the middle of the venue, where many other people were seen sitting on their mats, eating, enjoying every bit of the scenery... and also in the middle of the venue, there is a small stage and it was showcasing the taiko drums... played by a few japanese kids. they were also game stalls.. featuring YOYO(i wonder what the hell is that), GOLDFISH SCOOPING, which means scooping goldfish duh. out of a mini inflatable pool. BASKETBALL, just throw the ball into the basket duh and win a prize i think. and the last stall was selling boring items.. japanese items.. like shirts and whatever. but seriously the main course was still the food. i used all of my 12 coupons on food and drink. in the festival.. i really felt that i was in japan. man... the main language most people spoke was japanese.. and it feels good. im gonna learn it after the Os. such a sweet language. when dusk broke... the main event started... the mass dancing session, or Bon-Odori dance as the japanese calls it. the "obasan", which means auntie in japanese, was leading the pack.. with the traditional music playing in the background. kinda cool but i will never join in the mass dancing.. i cant dance for nuts. haha. when the event came to a close.. i was really sad... nooo i dont wanna leave.......... nevermind... there will be always next year! i didnt bring the memories back... in terms of pictures... the pictures i took, on my friend's camera, sucked bad.. all of them were so blurry that anyone who sees it can become blind. i wanted to take the picture of this group of jap chicks sitting down... but due to my nervousness i shook like vibrator. i was afraid that they'd notice. in the end, they did and one of them kept staring at me. so i ran away. really. the next japanese-related event would be the open house of the only japanese high school in singapore.. waseda-shibuya japanese high school.. on september 18th. and i'll surely be there hopefully with the same guys.. or if better, more guys. school has been fine. in class i'm sitting with new people. definitely great guys. manuel, the fat nosed guy who used to be in my old clique with "those friends", was brainwashed by "those friends" and he ignored me now. how stupid can he be. sheesh. this week i have a jaming session with some new people. the drummer remains the same.. just a new guitarist and bassist. the eerie fact about the new guitarist is... his guitar is worth $25 when he bought it.. and it sounded awfully...err awful. i heard that he has upgraded his guitar... so i hope they sound quality would get better.. but something more important is missed... the basic skill... well he plays generally okay. i just had my english oral today. fuck!!! i screwed up the reading part... i missed a couple of "a's" how fucking blind can i get?!! but the picture part and conversation went fine... but i think i gave too short answers for certain questions.. i dont think i'll score high for this oral. and oh, i recently bought a new guitar pedal last friday.. and it sounds like GOD.. i love it worth every cent. now i have final thing to replace in my stack of guitar accessories... a new guitar clip strap. my old strap.. like it's gonna tear.. so i wouldnt dare to spin my guitar yet until i get a new strap. once that part is done... im gonna practise spinning my guitar and once i get the hang of it.. in future gigs... would be fun. guitarists spinning their guitar isnt common anymore thats the sad part. at first, the only local guy i knew who could spin his guitar is my so called "band member". i was WOW when i first saw it.. but now i heard that more and more guys could be able to do it. so maybe i'll raise the bar higher... i'll attempt to do 2 spins in a row... at least like that i'll be the first in some way. saosin's guitarist did a triple guitar spin in one of his live clips. man is he such a fukin cool dude. somemore he's using a gibson Les Paul.. that guitar weighs like 100kg. haha. oh fuck it's like gonna be 1AM now. bye im crashing soon.
