hullo. back from my first day of school. it was a short DAY hahah. learnt that not all the lessons in the timetable are meant to go for, depends on whatever stream you are, be it popular music and jazz, classical or music technology. im in popular music. and now, after doing the last final crosses, i have axed out quite a lot of lessons out of my own timetable. for example, a class like keyboard skills, are only meant for people who play the piano, or they are in music tech stream. yah, one disadvantage, actually more of an advantage is, that keyboard lesson is made compulsory to ALL music tech students, even if they never played a keyboard in their life. a very good chance to pick up a new instrument la.
reached school 5 mins before starting time. the timetable stated that the venue, i think is PE80 bla bla. i tot that was the room. i raided the entire Performing Arts block, and i couldnt find shit. then i heard people complaining downstairs about the same problem we had. where's the fucking room? then i went down and talked to one of them, all of them are equally as blur as us. then queried some caucasian guy walking up and down the block, and he got the guy in charge of music to guide us. found the room finally. had a really long introduction, about who goes in which class and whatsover. and a list of where each lessson is held. actually i dont know whats the point of even having a class when everyone splits up each time in every different period. and all the people in the class would never be together in one room. except for lectures.
got introduced to our aural teacher, ONE of our aural teachers i mean, Ms Mona Lim, she's ok la. and she roughly explained to us what the aural lesson was like, and im not gonna under her as she teaches those with higher grades. it was quite scary la, i'm a little confused about the stuff she's talking about, it's like a whole new thing. i worry about this part the most, and the tests that are gonna be tested on from Aural Class. and the group of people in the room, luckily not as many idiots as i expected, but there is this one big major idiot. he likes making really stupid comments and he's a loudmouth. i think one day he will get beaten up eventually.
after aural class, there was an hour a half break. 1030 to 12. the next lesson would be Music Theory for the B batch of students. and i'm inside the list of names. omg, and he teaches like right from the scratch, GRADE 1, omg. i swear the class is reallllly boring. i took out my psp and watched videos under my desk. some guys are asleep already. this batch of students taking this theory lesson are those who are of lower grade, or no grade at all. so it's really like A B C to people like me and some others. the other batch is unfortunately for higher grades, whichi is a tad higher than mine, so i still wouldnt be able to shift to that class as i have insufficient knowledge. sian la. this class is scheduled to end at 130pm. siaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
i sat beside this new guy. he was friendly. he talked to me first. hahah. then i went out of my anti-social shell a bit. oh ya, something i forgot to mention earlier. before the theory class started, the teacher wanted to take our attendance, and he's a white, so he said beforehand that he would apologise if he cant pronounce some names right. and he pronounced my name like SHIT. i couldnt be bothered la, just how much i wanna change my name....
weirdly, the theory class ended way earlier than normal today. Mr Moore(his name) suddenly dismissed us at about 1255pm. we thought we were free to go but actually we had to go to the auditorium for some talk or something. i dunno what is it also. the auditorium is filled with music students of different levels, level 0(us) and level 1( i think). yet another sleep inducing talk and it finished at 125pm. the next thing on the list is some lecture about the arts at the Studio or whatever it is called. it's a cool place la, it's dark, and filled with Foundation Students just like us but of all streams in the entire Performing Arts Block. that includes, dance, and so on. the talk was a short one this time, and at the end, he said he didnt take our attendance tday as he assumed all of us are here. and there are some others happily taking a smoke outside the school grounds -_- they didnt go.
finished this final talk. there was a final Rhythm Ensemble class at about 430pm, but after consultation from someone, we got to know that it was cancelled! : D so good news la. slacked at the canteen area for a while since we had all the time in the world. wanted to wait for our oldskool friends to turn up but they took forever and i'm rotting already so i couldnt take it anymore and left. took 30 to Harbourfront, and there are SO many sec sch students there. really i mean A LOT. wondering what the hell are they here for. ate at yoshinoya and proceeded to go home by MRT. and "good"news, NEL system from Harbourfront to Clarke Quay going towards Punggol is jammed. BUT, they were kind enough to set up a free shuttle bus service to those MRT stations. died in the MRT going back to sengkang. i swear. im damn freaking tired la. i slept like 1 HOUR the night before?! yes, ONE HOUR. from 530am to 630am.
yesssss. great to know that tomorrow, i'll only have 2 things to attend for the whole day. and school for me starts at 130PM! finally can gain back a little of those lost sleeping hours. forgot to mention this in my first paragraph of this entry, my allowance has increased! happily pocketing $15 a day now. life is definitely a little sweeter now for me. new school, new life, new friends(none at the moment yet), new allowance, and HOPEFULLY, new laptop. and ya, about 3 weeks and a few days more to go.. Australia, here i come.
heart beats slowing, pains are growing
