hello again. after a week's break. i think this is the worse time to blog actually. because im due to leave the house in less than an hour's time for piano class -___-
well, i guess i'll try to make this post for today short and sweet, updating only on the juicy bits of my life. so far, i've been rather cheerful for the past week or so : )
SOMEDAY LAST WEEK (forgot which day)
i was told to come down to DFS Galleria as a replacement guide since the slots were full that day. actually i was already told to do this about 2 MONTHS before in advanced, but i cant confirm because i was afraid i might have other things on. and so, i just went to Galleria at 830am.
was told that the students were only arriving at 955am -___- wasted my time rushing down, so we had breakfast at Mac near Lido. seriously now i find the Hotcakes meal a little too much for me.
after all the briefing and grouping and other shit, we finaly got to meet our students. but so sad la, i'm not a guide alone by myself, im just sticking to someone's group as a "helper" finally got to know that the group assigned to us was ALL GUYS -___-
i was a little disappointed la, NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE GUYS, but because they were quite boring, as in, the anti-social type. so our touring in the morning to Chinatown was kinda boring. it's like no chance to chat with them.
NOT UNTIL, we met another group, they were all guys again, but this time we combined the groups together because the guide for the other group was having problems communicating with them because she couldnt understand Japanese totally. but i like this idea of combining because her group guys were wayyyy friendlier. and there was this particular guy in their group who was really loyal to his girlfriend, hahah. he wanted to find a "couple gift" so that his gf and him could wear together. aww romantic dude.
overall it was quite enjoyable still. i'm still new to this line even though i've helped in another Touring job about 4 months back. my Japanese langauge skills are still warming up. in the end, was forced to take pics with them, well, i have to succumb to their requests as they wanted their memories on film.
NEXT WEEK.
14th of November.
got an SMS from EEELing earlier saying she cant make it for her position for today's guiding job. so i took over her. yay!!! thanks EELING!!!!!
835am.
i rushed to York hotel like siao, because i was told that it starts from 830am. heng, the event havent started yet. but a group of familiar faces were already there, the same guides from the week before. AND, they were having a shortage of guides because many havent turned up. but i like today's system more. no numbers or groups or nothing, it's just based on first come, first serve basis. this time i got a group of GIRLS :D:D:D:D:D:D
took them to taka, cine, chinatown, suntec. and seriously these girls can really SHOP. later on the last 1 and a half hours of the day, we had Lunch at some restaurant i randomly recommended -_- The Asian Kitchen @ CityLink. so, we ate the Chinese Cuisine. but i got really surprised when they offered to pay for my meal at the end.
Honto ni arigatou~
we even took Neos together -_- they were really nice la. fond memories captured and never forgotten.
15th November (yesterday)
got lost in the morning while attempting to find FUrama River Front Hotel. took a cab there instead -_- really lucky that we could get a cab at that time in the morning leh. even though the trip was barely 10 minutes, the fare was $5+++ thanks to the morning peak hour charges. and once again, i got a group of girls again : D
took them to basically almost the same places as yesterday minus Chinatown. because i know for sure, they would complain about the heat. so at least i kept them under aircon most of the time. today's group was different from yesterday's group in a way. firstly, they are not hardcore shoppers. secondly, they were really HYPER ACTIVE. they chatted a lot, really loudly, but the thing engraved in my mind forever would be the time when i brought them to macdonalds @ Marina in the morning for breakfast, while they were buying stuff from the menu from the cashier guy, they squealed "SANKYUUUUUUUU" in unison.
super cute la!!!!!
oh ya, i have to express a little anger here. when we were at Suntec's PLayground level. my group was trying out sample from a store selling Sweets. but in the end, they didnt want to purchase it, and the lady at the shop was a farking bitch. she uttered, "terrible.." and shook her head when the girls didnt want to buy. seriously pissed me off.
ok, im running out of time. i have to quickly summarise up things now. and so, even though my job on 15th ended about 2 hours earlier than usual, i'm still happy for having the oppurtunity to be a guide. I CERTAINLY DONT MIND DOING THIS JOB EVERYDAY. it's not for the money (since we're underpaid anyway) but it's for the interaction and chance to put my conversational skills to the test, and the experience.
i'd like to thank Siti for introducing me to this job. a really big thank you to you.
lastly, pictures.

and

i contradicted what i said yesterday like crazy.
